Is 3D and 4D ultrasound safe for me and my baby?

3D and 4D ultrasound use the same frequency as your doctor uses in the normal 2D ultrasound. Ultrasounds have been used for over 35 years and there have been no proven side effects from its proper use. We strictly adhere to the FDA’s standards.

How good are you at determining the sex of the baby?

At 15 weeks we can determine the gender with a very high accuracy. If you are over 15 weeks and the gender can not be seen, we invite you back for a weekday return appointment and we will rescan you for free within the next 14 days. The need for a return visit is usually due to the baby’s position.

When is the best time to have a 3D/4D ultrasound?

That depends on what you are looking to see. Many mothers like coming in twice, early on, 15-22 weeks, when they can see the baby as a whole, and then again at 26-32 weeks to see a more detailed face. Between 28 and 32 weeks, your baby develops more fat and gets a more defined face. After 34 weeks, it becomes more and more difficult to obtain good pictures since the baby is running out of room. However all babies are different and we have been successful in obtaining great images all the way up to 39 weeks.

Are family and friends welcome to join?

Yes! We encourage you to bring your friends and family to share this special moment with you. Children are also welcome and we provide them with plenty of toys and books to keep them entertained. At our location our ultrasound room can comfortably seat 10 people, but more are welcome if they would like to stand and watch. The ultrasound is projected onto a 86 inch screen so that everyone is able to see with ease.

What if I am late to my appointment?

All clients are asked to arrive approximately 10-15 minutes before their appointment time to fill out paperwork and in case of traffic and/or getting lost. The actual ultrasound should start at the appointment time that was given to you. If you are late, then the time of your ultrasound will be shortened. Clients who arrive more than 10 minutes after their appointment time will be rescheduled, or the ultrasound appointment time will be shortened.

What should I do prior to the 3D/4D appointment?

Drink plenty of water days before the appointment to ensure your amniotic fluid is clear. About a half hour before your 3D/4D ultrasound scan, try to drink a fruit juice so that your baby will be awake during your session (unless you are told not to by your physician).

Do you accept insurance?

No, we do not accept insurance because this is an elective procedure.

Repeat policy

Repeats are at the discretion of ultrasound technician. Repeat appointments are to be scheduled within 10 days of original appointment. No shows for a repeat appointment will either forfeit free repeat or be charged a $30 repeat fee.
